Not Special
The Buddha said that there was no difference between him and every other human being. When we think of the Buddha we usually think of him as an extraordinary person. He is a little bit special, he was a very good teacher. But he said he wasn’t special. That’s interesting because when we usually think about religious people like Lao Tzu, Jesus, or Mohammed we think about them as being very special. So one time a monk went to the Buddha and asked “Buddha, what is the difference between you and me”? The Buddha had a very interesting answer, he said, “There is no difference between you and me. It’s just that I’m awake and you are not. "
